"After having three kids, I had gradually put on weight and before I turned 40, I finally made the decision to do something about it. Before I started working out at 413 Fitness, I used to run regularly and lift some weights at the gym, but I had to stop running because it was too hard on my joints and I was never that consistent with the weight lifting. This activity helped with the weight loss, but I was not seeing any big changes in my muscle tone.
Almost a year ago, when I started working out with Jamie, my goals were pretty simple. I wanted to tone up and get stronger, hopefully avoiding any injuries. All of these goals have been achieved at 413 Fitness. I can actually see the muscles in my arms and legs and I am stronger than I could have ever imagined I’d be.
Personally, I thought that at my age and with my joints, there was no way I could do cross fit without getting injured, but Jamie’s workouts can be tailored to all fitness levels, so anyone can come and get a great workout. The workouts are different every day, keeping it fun and challenging. Jamie is so supportive and I love the bible scriptures that are posted on the boards and the words of encouragement that she shares on her Facebook page.
I am so thankful for this gym and truly look forward to coming every day the doors are open. Not only have I found a great workout regimen, it feels like I have found an extended family. Looking back I have realized that I was in a rut in my life. My Dad had a quadruple bypass in July of 2015. Learning that he had no indicators for heart disease other than bad genetics made me commit to getting healthy. I did nothing prior to 413. I downloaded the couch to 5k running app and made a commitment to myself that I would exercise 3 days a week and if I did more than that was a bonus. I incorporated boot camp and running into my weekly workouts. The main goal I made for my self was to get healthy. I have a weight goal that I have yet to reach but I’m still working towards that goal. I had to keep telling myself that I did not get overweight and out of shape overnight so this was a process to get Healthy again. As the pounds started falling off the motivation has continued and now I was to become more toned. Results: 32 lbs. lost. Measurements-inches lost:
